There are only but a few moments in this lifetime that are as raw, emotional, and transformative as the birth of your child. It's a time full of anticipation, overwhelming love and adoration, and strength - an experience that deserves to be remembered. Birth photography offers a way to document this once-in-a-lifetime experience with honesty and tenderness.

For many parents, the day their baby is born is a blur. The intensity of labor, rush of emotions and many other factors can make it difficult to fully take in all the details of the day (or night). Documenting your birth story allows you to relive those moments- the determination in laboring, support from your partner and birthing team, your baby's first breath and the very first embrace. These images tell your story - deeply and personally.

what to expect & my philosophy

I work quietly, respectfully, and discreetly in your birthing space documenting your birth story honestly. I focus on the intimate moments, and the smallest of details that are often overlooked, while being mindful of your space, your birthing team, and your birth plan. Whether you birth your baby in a hospital, birth center or at home, my goal is to document your story in an unobtrusive way, allowing you to remain fully present in your experience.

I believe that the role of a birth photographer is to document the birth process authentically, and without judgement. My goal is to tell your birth story by preserving the details while also including the emotional changes. Medical professionals (doctors, midwives, nurses, etc.) take precedence, and I will always work around them within the parameters they give me.

Hiring a birth photographer is a big deal, my clients are never a number to me. It is crucial to know and feel comfortable with your birth photographer prior to your birthing day.

experience & style

since 2012, I have had the unique privilege and honor documenting birth stories. I have been apart of home, hospital, and birth center births. I take a documentary style approach to birth photography, ensuring the integrity of your story.

availability

Since birth is unpredictable, I only accept 3 birth stories per month. I am on-call starting at 36 weeks until your baby is born.

comfort & Privacy

Birth is an incredibly intimate event. I only share images on social media and my website after the full gallery has been delivered and the images have been approved (unless stated otherwise).

fayetteville & raleigh birth photography Investment

Each birth story comes with a free consultation by phone, video, or in-person. I go on call officially at 36 weeks, and available throughout your pregnancy for any questions, updates, and anything else that may come up. There is a $750 retainer to book your birth story and balance must be paid by 36 weeks.

Birth Stories start at $1500.
